NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg called on Russia on Monday (November 26th) to release Ukrainian sailors and ships, saying there was no justification for what Moscow was doing.
"What we saw yesterday is very dangerous," Stoltenberg told a news conference after an emergency meeting of the Western military alliance at the request of Ukraine.
"All the allies have expressed their full support for the full sovereignty of the Ukrainian territory. There is no justification for the use of military force against the Ukrainian navy and ships, so we call on Russia to immediately release the Ukrainian sailors and ships it held yesterday."
