Cairo

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shukri will pay a visit to Addis Ababa next week for talks with his Ethiopian counterpart on the construction of the Renaissance Dam, a foreign ministry spokesman said.

The visit is due to the failure of the negotiations on the Renaissance Dam, which Ethiopia has established because  of development issues...But in other side in Egypt , this dam will cause a huge disaster if it completed as it egypt will lose nearly most of its yearly amount of water.Egypt's suffering from water poverty and The Nile is a source of water for Egyptians.

The Egyptian-Ethiopian negotiations have been broken because of the Ethiopian side deliberately disrupting the role of companies that are interested in the technical aspect, while Ethiopia continues to build it without taking into account the tripartite agreement signed in 2014 between Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan.

Ethiopia says the Renaissance dam "will have little impact on Egypt." It accused Egypt of "reviewing its political power to discourage financiers from supporting other Ethiopian electricity projects."

Delegates from Egypt, Sudan and Ethiopia met in Cairo in November, failed to approve the study of the environmental and economic impacts of the dam prepared by a French company.

Talks between the three sides stalled after they failed to agree on a preliminary report from the company.

"Egypt is not prepared to accept amendments to the report submitted by Khartoum and Addis Ababa," said Sudanese Minister of Irrigation Moataz Moussa.

The Sudanese minister pointed out that "Sudan and Ethiopia expressed their concern on several points, especially the basis on which the study measures the effects of the dam."

It is worthy to add that Both Sudan and Ethiopia are worked to stop the studies about the Renaissance dam, and played a deceiving role on Egypt for wasting the  time, till Ethiopia ends its structure for the dam without any caring to any rights for Egypt.

International experts confirm that the dam has many risks and may cause complete drowning in Sudan and large parts of Ethiopia if it destroyed for any reason. Experts also said that the dam will cause the desertification of most of the Egyptian lands and may lead to the death of millions of Egyptians thirstly ...
While Sudan, which sees an interest in the dam next to Ethiopia, have another opinion that contradicts the Egyptian position.

By the visit of Egyptian FM Sameh Shukri to Addis Abba, it may rise up new talks and negotiation about the dam and the historical rights of Egypt in the Nile water..as well its right in life beside the right of Ethiopians for development.
