The Azerbaijani Ministry of Defense announced this morning, Monday, that its forces destroyed, in the night battles, a stronghold of the Armenian army in the northwestern border region of Tuvuz.

The ministry said in a statement that its units "destroyed precision fire of artillery, mortars and tanks on a fortified point, artillery facilities, vehicles and personnel of the enemy."

The ministry added that an Azerbaijani officer was killed during the night battles, accusing Armenia of hiding its losses.

This came after a border clash in Tafuz region, on Sunday, amid Baku and Yerevan accusations of violating the ceasefire regime on the seam between the two parties who have been fighting a fierce conflict over the disputed area of ​​Karabakh since the early nineties.
